Higher Ed Mobile Lessons: Windows 8.

The Windows 8 operating system is a game changer in higher ed for two reasons:

1) Apps developed on Windows 8 can be used across all Windows 8 devices, phones, tablets and PCs. That means you can use the exact same Angry Birds, Bank of America or your school’s mobile app on your Windows 8 PC, tablet and phone.

2) Windows 8 was developed for a generation of students growing up on touch screen devices, apps and tablets. Lap/desktops are being passed over for smaller, more functional tablets with highly intuitive apps.

Students today would prefer everything be touch, on an app and more portable. Windows 8 has made that a reality in a very compelling way across all their devices.

We’re extremely excited to announce our partnership with Microsoft and will be the first higher ed mobile solution to offer apps for Windows 8 tablets and PCs beginning in June.
